Aleks Srbovska
Aleks graduated from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology and Genetics. As an undergraduate student, Aleks volunteered as a crisis responder for Crisis Text Line powered by Kids Help Phone. She also volunteered as a GCA in the Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Genetics Clinic at Women’s College Hospital in Toronto. Aleks gained research experience during her fourth year, where she worked on a project defining the role of Luman/CREB3 in adipogenesis and lipid metabolism. After graduating, Aleks worked part-time as a medical receptionist in an immigration medical centre and part-time as a tutor for Oxford Learning. She also volunteered her time tutoring in collaboration with the Halton Down Syndrome Association in her hometown Burlington, Ontario. In her free time, Aleks enjoys being outdoors, reading, yoga, crafting, and spending time with family and friends.
