Lucy Jennings
Lucy grew up in Charlotte, NC, and graduated from Clemson University in Clemson, SC in 2023. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Genetics and Psychology. During her undergrad, Lucy gained research experience working as an undergraduate research assistant in a molecular genetics lab, studying DNA repair mechanisms. She also participated in Creative Inquiry courses researching the associations between Autism Spectrum Disorder and sleeping position. To gain advocacy experience, she was a crisis hotline volunteer with First Light, a local sexual assault hotline in SC, and a volunteer with the Clemson chapter of National Alzheimer’s Buddies. Lucy gained exposure to the field of genetic counseling by completing two shadowing internships in cancer genetic counseling clinics at Novant Health in Charlotte, NC and Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. Additionally, she conducted interviews with genetic counselors, attended program information sessions and researched the field. After graduation, Lucy stayed at Clemson and obtained a Master of Science in Applied Health Research and Evaluation. In her free time, Lucy likes to workout, watch and attend Detroit sporting events, play pickleball and hang out with her amazing cohort!
