Kristin Pohl, BA
Kristin graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016, with a Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. While working as a special education teacher in Michigan, she coached Special Olympics Unified bocce ball and had the privilege of teaching students who received special education from kindergarten to sixth grade. Kristin had a growing interest in counseling and was fortunate to have learned about the genetic counseling profession. She was able to gain greater insight into the profession by working as a Genetic Counseling Assistant at GeneDx. Kristin gained advocacy experience by volunteering with Ele’s Place and working as a Family Support Assistant with Capital Area Community Services, Inc. where she assisted individuals with utility emergencies and Medicaid applications. In her free time, Kristin enjoys spending time with her friends and family, camping, attempting to kayak with her dog, and watching The Lord of the Rings.
