Lein Charkatli, B.Sc
Lein graduated from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada in 2023. She received an Honours B.Sc. by double majoring in Biology & Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour. As an undergraduate, she was a Teaching Assistant for IntroPsych courses, where she taught psychology tutorials. To gain advocacy experience, she has served as a National Team Lead for CAN HEAL— a Canadian-based project that addresses the health and well-being needs of Arab immigrants/refugees by doing community-engaged research and designing evidence-based knowledge translation resources. She also volunteered for three years as a Crisis Responder for the Kids Help Phone Crisis Text Line. To learn more about the genetic counseling profession, she shadowed genetic counselors, watched genetic counseling videos, and reached out to genetic counseling students. In her free time, she likes to cook, crochet, play video games, and watch TV shows.
