Procedures and Forms for MGG MS Students 

Plan of Work

After completing 8-12 credits and selecting a graduate advisor at the beginning of the second semester, students submit a Plan of Work and Petition for Candidacy.  Students must have attained a minimum GPA of 3.0 to advance to candidacy.

Research Thesis Outline and Committee

During the first semester that students are registered for MGG 8999 Master’s Thesis Research and Direction, students prepare an outline of their planned Thesis and present it to their Thesis Committee.  The Thesis outline and selection of the Thesis Committee are done in consultation with the Thesis Advisor.

Master’s Thesis and Examination

A Master’s Thesis should be written in accordance with suggestions from the Graduate School and presented to the Thesis Committee for approval.  Students must present their thesis research to their committee in a final oral examination prior to graduation.
