MD-PhD in Molecular Genetics and Genomics
The MD/PhD in Molecular Genetics and Genomics program combines outstanding basic science training with state-of-the-art clinical medicine to train individuals as physician-scientists excelling in careers in research and medicine.
Highly motivated students accepted into the School of Medicine MD/PhD program will have the option to join the Molecular Genetics and Genomic program for their PhD years. Molecular Genetics and Genomics students receive broad training in genetics, molecular and cellular biology, genomics, functional genomics, systems biology, bioinformatics, and computational and statistical methods. A essential component of their training is conducting dissertation research in one of the focus areas of Center faculty. Doctoral candidates receive intensive laboratory training, working closely with faculty on projects at the forefront of biomedical genetics and genomics research.
