- B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from Wayne State University
- Currently a first-year student in MGG MS program
I was born and raised in the Metro Detroit area, and it was during high school that I first discovered my passion for biology, particularly genetics and therapeutic methods, through my AP Biology courses. My interest intensified when my family was faced with my grandfather's Alzheimer's diagnosis, which really motivated me to explore genetic diseases and abnormalities more deeply.
At Wayne State, I took my passion for genetics to the next level, gaining hands-on experience as an undergraduate volunteer in Dr. Ara's lab at CMMG. Since graduating with a bachelor's in biology as a first-generation graduate, I've been working in Dr. Espinosa-Diez's lab while pursuing my MGG master's degree. After completing my master’s, I aim to apply my knowledge and experiences to help others and work towards preventing genetic diseases from affecting more families.
