My name is Sebastian Luca Morales-Bermudez Espinel. I was born in Lima, Peru, on July 9, 1999, and it was in Lima where I spent most of my life. I completed my primary, secondary, and undergraduate studies there. Biology is a branch of science that captured my interest from the first moment I encountered it in my first year of high school. I never had a particular reason for choosing to study biology; I was simply fascinated by it and felt a natural affinity toward it. Genetics piqued my interest when I learned about Mendel and how a person with no scientific background could develop a theory suggesting the existence of particles that carry information, which can be inherited by the next generation. From that moment on, I was hooked on the subject, and I had the revelation that this would be the future of science. Understanding the information within genes and the genome would be the next major step in technological advancement.
