Taylor Hayes
Taylor graduated from the University of Mississippi’s Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College with a BS in biology and minors in psychology and chemistry. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant performing isolation and structural elucidation of compounds from the plant Salvia apiana and assessing their psychoactive activity. She gained advocacy experience by volunteering with Great Lakes Caring Hospice and the North Mississippi Regional Center. After graduation, she worked as an assistant in the cancer genetics clinic at St. John Hospital and Medical Center and became a crisis counselor for Crisis Text Line. In her free time, Taylor likes spending time with family and friends, reading, running, and listening to podcasts.
