The PhD program of Molecular Genetics and Genomics at Wayne State University is an ideal place for me to pursue a unique career path in research that combines Molecular Biology and Neuroscience. I am especially drawn to study these fields as it is directly related to my academic and practical research experiences. I am particularly interested in studying the role of proteins in the CNS diseases; their interactions, structures, PTMs. I am also interested in studying mitochondrial dysfunction that occurs in neurodegeneration as well as other diseases. My future plan is to work on identifying potential biomarkers for these diseases and designing accurate diagnostic assays.
