Elley Vipond

Elley grew up in Windsor, Ontario and graduated from the University of Windsor in 2024 with an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Forensic Science with a specialization in Life Sciences. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as an in-class tutor for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board, helping refugee students and children with educational disabilities bridge the learning gap created by the global pandemic. She also volunteered for the Kids Help Phone Crisis Text response team, where she responded to adolescents and young adults looking for support with various emotional and mental challenges. Elley also expanded her cultural knowledge in the fields of forensics, biology, and chemistry by studying abroad at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. To gain genetic counseling experience, Elley volunteered at Victory Reproductive Care, a fertility clinic, where she was introduced to first-hand patient care, reproductive procedures, laboratory mechanisms, and research collection. She also shadowed genetic counselors, conducted a variety of informal interviews with genetic counselors, and listened to podcasts related to the field. In her spare time, Elley enjoys baking, working out, watching movies, travelling, and spending time with family and friends.
