Alexia Teberian

Alexia grew up in Ortonville, MI, and graduated from Michigan State University in 2024 with a B.S. in Molecular Genetics and Genomics and a minor in Bioethics. During her time at Michigan State she worked as an undergraduate assistant in the Intro. Biology lab and volunteered at MSU Safe Place, a shelter providing support for survivors of relationship violence and stalking. Through this volunteer work she gained advocacy experience operating the online Crisis Chat and assisting with support groups. During her summers, Alexia spent time working as a Behavioral Technician at an ABA clinic, volunteering with the Oakland County Parks Adaptive Recreation Program, and serving at a country club. In addition to genetic counseling, Alexia has a passion for teaching, and pursued this post-grad working as a lab instructor at Michigan State University and substitute teaching in middle and high schools. To learn more about genetic counseling she shadowed local counselors, watched mock counseling sessions, and listened to online interviews with genetic counselors. In her free time, she enjoys being with family and friends, going to concerts, and reading!
