Christopher Doumith

Christopher graduated from the University of Windsor in 2019 with an Honours Bachelor’s of Science, majoring in Biology. During his time at the university, he co-authored “Parent’s Guide to Vaccination”, a locally published brochure and poster in association with local medical centers. To gain advocacy experience, he was one of the original members of the Alzheimer’s Awareness Association, a student-led university club that organized events to raise funds for their local Alzheimer Society Center. For three years Christopher continued his advocacy work as a volunteer phone and text crisis counsellor working at a national (Kids Help Phone), provincial (Distress and Crisis Ontario) and local (The Downtown Mission of Windsor) level. To gain better insight to the Genetic Counselling profession, Christopher interviewed genetic counsellors in Canada and the US, read literature from the field, and attended genetic counselling conferences. On his days off, he enjoys tinkering with computers, watching cooking shows, and spending time with family and friends.
