Ryleigh Arndt

Ryleigh graduated from Wayne State University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a minor in Health Psychology. During her time as an undergraduate she was an Overdose Rescue Trainer for the AmeriCorps Community Training Program in the metro Detroit area. As an overdose rescue trainer, she facilitated community training sessions educating community members how to intervene in an overdose emergency and providing them with lifesaving skills. Ryleigh also worked as a Peer Mentor at Wayne State University for first year students where she mentored students as they acclimated  to the University. To gain advocacy experience, she volunteered as a Crisis Counselor on the Crisis Textline by supporting individuals during a crisis and providing them with an individualized plan and resources. Ryleigh’s first exposure to genetic counseling came with her volunteering at a Cancer Center, and she expanded that exposure by speaking to Genetic Counselors in various specialties. In her free time, Ryleigh enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
