Ana graduated from the University of Windsor in 2019 with a BSc in Honors Biology. To gain advocacy experience, she was a volunteer for the Liberty Project, which provides women who have overcome human trafficking and addiction opportunities for transitional employment and financial education. Ana continued her advocacy work as one of the original members of the OnCanada Project producing timely, credible, and easy to understand posts about various impacts of the pandemic and social issues in Canada. She also volunteered as a crisis textline counsellor for two years. To gain better insight to the Genetic Counselling profession, Ana shadowed genetic counsellors in Canada and the US, read literature from the field, and listened to various podcasts. On her days off, she enjoys watching travel shows, crafting jewelry, and spending time with family and friends.
