  • B.S. in Biology from Grand Valley State University
  • Currently a 1st year student in the MGG MS program

During my undergraduate studies at Grand Valley State University, I developed an interest in genetics through my research experiences with Drosophila knockout studies. After graduation, I accepted a research position with a laboratory at Wayne State University that focuses their research on pharmacology and microbiology. This allowed me to gain insight and experience within bacterial genetics. More broadly, this position afforded me the chance to see how research-intensive and focused Wayne State University is and led me to pursue my graduate studies here. I am confident this program will help me expand my knowledge base and open doors throughout my career.
