  • B.S. in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Michigan State University
  • Currently a 1st year student in the MGG MS program

During my time at Michigan State University, I explored different areas of science and ultimately found my passion in the field of genetics during the last two years of college where I participated in genomics research. My research focused on the underlying genetic mechanism behind an individual’s difference in social behavior of spotted hyenas in the Holekamp lab. This research sparked my interest in delving further into solving challenging scientific hypotheses.

In addition to the scientific courses, I took many classes in the department of Romance and Classical studies, where I was able to immerse myself in other cultures. This allowed me to become a well- rounded person.

I am eager to continue my education in the MGG MS program, where I hope to learn more in the areas of bioinformatics, early cancer detection and genetic alterations at genome level.
