During my undergraduate degree I pursued a career in veterinary medicine. After losing interest for the field late into my degree, but still having a passion for science I began to look at what options I had. I had only ever done one research project, but I had really enjoyed the process. I decided I wanted to try and get a feel for what a career in research would be like.  I chose the program because genetics was one of my favorite courses during my undergraduate degree, and the Center’s mini lab rotations give me a good opportunity to see what some of the different subfields of genetics are like. Though I am still unsure about what I want to focus on, I am very excited for the future and what the program has to offer.
