Andrea graduated from the University of Windsor in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While at the University of Windsor, she was a member of the women’s varsity basketball team and the Lancer Student Athletic Committee. After graduation, Andrea attained a Graduate Certificate at Wayne State in Health Communication, studying how patients and providers communicate in a clinical setting.  She learned more about this profession by shadowing genetic counselors in Detroit, Michigan and volunteering as a GCA at the John McGivney Children’s Centre in Windsor, Ontario. In order to gain advocacy experience, Andrea volunteered as a helpline responder with the Windsor Distress Centre and ONTX Text and Crisis Chat Line. She also served with these organizations in a leadership role, mentoring and training new volunteers. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys reading, jigsaw puzzles and fitness.
