Madeline Fugate

Madeline graduated from Grand Valley State University in December of 2018 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology. As an undergraduate, Madeline worked as a Structured Learning Assistance Facilitator for three semesters, facilitating peer education in General Biology I. She gained advocacy experience as a care provider for an individual with muscular dystrophy. She completed undergraduate research with Dr. Osman Patel at Grand Valley and Dr. Izabela Podgorski at Wayne State University in their cancer biology laboratories. After graduation, Madeline worked as the Clinical Research Manager for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and Ascension Providence Neurosurgery Residency, where she assisted neurosurgery residents with their research projects, managed a clinical research staff, and surveyed spinal surgery patients. In her free time, Madeline enjoys playing board and card games with her family, watching HGTV, and traveling.
