Quick Look
• Graduated with a BS in Biotechnology from Punjab University, India
• Currently a second-year student in the PhD Program
Previously I worked as a Research Trainee in Vaccine R&D, Panacea Biotec Ltd, India and then I worked as a Research Assistant in Southern Illinois University, Illinois from Jan 2007 till June 2008. The Molecular Medicine and Genetics program in Wayne State offers a great scientific and research atmosphere to the students with a well established infrastructure and resources. The program allows me o develop and enhance my skills and knowledge in one of the most fascinating areas of Neurosciences. Now, I am ready to begin my research with Dr Jeffery Loeb in the study of changes in gene expression and their association with the progression of Epilepsy in the humans. Once we have a clear understanding of the transcriptional changes and proteins levels during the diseased conditions, we can develop new drugs that would specifically target the region of the brain generating seizures and causing epileptic conditions.
Research Interests
Advisor: Dr. Jeffrey A. Loeb
