Jacqueline Williams

Jackie graduated from Wayne State University, with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. After graduation, she started her career at the DMC virology/serology laboratory as a Medical Technologist. After finding her specialty interest in genetics, she then furthered her career at the DMC by transitioning to working in the Cytogenetic Laboratory. After many years of practice at the DMC, she continued her laboratory genetics career at Beaumont Hospitals Cytogenetic laboratory primarily as a FISH Technologist. Through interactions with genetic counselors while working in the prenatal Cytogenetics area along with fortunate shadowing experiences, she gained an even greater appreciation for the Genetic Counseling field. Jackie received advocacy training through IMAlive and Empower work, where she learned how to support and empower others through crisis and work conflicts. She has also gained advocacy by supporting loved ones through their cancer journeys. In her free time Jackie enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, reading, and teaching fitness classes.
