Madeline Allen

Maddie graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Psychology. As an undergraduate, Maddie worked with people with disabilities such as cerebral palsy for IKUS Life Enrichment Services, volunteered at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids in a kid’s grief support group and for a crisis hotline called The Listening Ear, and completed undergraduate research in genetics with Dr. Martin Burg. After graduation, she worked as a Psychiatric Technician on an inpatient unit for adults with chronic illness in a mental health hospital and then as a Genetic Counseling Assistant for GeneDx in their neurology department. In her free time, Maddie likes to walk her dog and explore nearby trails, try out new restaurants, make music playlists, and do puzzles.
