. Ms. Harper is board certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics (1987) and is a Charter member and diplomate of the American Board of Genetic Counseling (1993); Ms. Harper was re-certified by ABGC in 2006. Ms. Harper is an active member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC) and has served in several leadership positions within NSGC including the Chair of the Licensure Subcommittee, Chair of the Public Policy Committee, and the Board of Directors as Secretary/Treasurer Elect. Ms. Harper has been a Board member of the Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors as the Chair of its Professional Development committee. Ms. Harper has devoted a great deal of time to educational endeavors including being a clinical supervisor for genetic counseling graduate students, conducting educational presentations to physicians, medical students, nurses, social workers, and high school students. Ms. Harper is an Associate Professor at the Oakland University William Beaumont Hospital School of Medicine and a visiting lecturer for the Genetic Counseling Graduate Program at Wayne State University. |
